Pookie made a delicious indian dahl soup. She often wondered why, in some recipies, there is so much time consumed, preparing and cooking in a certain order. So she decided to try making dahl, Pookie’s way. Throw the rinsed lentils in the pan, start cooking with double the water (1 part lentil, 2 parts water or whatever works) and however much olive oil you want- add spices: Paprika, Nutmeg, Ground Cumin, Tumeric, Powdered Ginger, Sea Salt, Cayenne Pepper to taste. On the side sautee some garlic, onion, ginger, throw it in with the lentils to cook until lentils are soft. Use whatever amounts of all of the above ingredients that you want- doesn’t matter, whatever tastes good to you (trust yourself- you know what you like). Chopped corriander on top is awesome. The dahl takes about 15 minutes to make- a nice, healthy dish to eat with salad.
